Design Committee:

  • Spring and Fall Clean-up -- Partners, City of Ripley

  • Applications for five Facade, Lighting, and Signage Mini-grants: Old Colony Realty, Century 21 Premier Properties, Appliance Store

  • Received Transportation Grants of $263,000.00 for Phase II Section III for Main Street Streetscape

  • Applications for Transportation Enhancement Grant Phase I, Section II Court Street; Phase II, Section II of Main Street Revitalization Project, Partners City of Ripley

  • Worked with BET through the WV Development Office -- Old Colony Realty, Bible Book Store

  • Completed renovation of the interior of the Alpine Theatre

  • Grand Opening of the Alpine Theatre

  • Applied for grant for historic district signs

  • Partnered with the City of Ripley -- Purchasing and installation of period lighting on McGinley Memorial

Promotion Committee:

  • Received grants for children's activities:

    • Bernice Pickens Foundation

    • Wal-Mart

    • WV Healthy Kids & Family Coalition

  • Successful Events:

    • Community Easter Egg Hunt

    • Ripley's On Sale

    • Fun Day/Health Fair - A Festival for Children

    • Welcome Baskets for new families moving into area

    • Packages/monies for Katrina victims

  • Wellness & Fitness Program

    • One of two "Pilot Projects" for MSWA

    • Received $30,000 Grant from DHHR

    • Walking Club -- approximately 260 members
